RecovR is a game developed by The Seed Crew which was designed to be a tool used in professional training. The game is divided into several modules, each related to a discrimination : sexism, racism, ableism, ageism, lgbtphobia. Originally each topic was covered in about thirty episodes of 20 minutes each, but the format has been revised based on the target audience. For this project, I:
- designed the overall narrative structure (i.e.: created the story arcs and the length of the episodes according to the context of play)
- researched in details the main themes (i.e.: read a significant amount of research papers and numerous testimonies)
- created main and secondary characters, while being mindful and respectful of ethnic, cultural, and gender diversity
- wrote design documents and communicated the narrative vision to the team
- worked collaboratively with game designers, artists, and programmers to ensure the coherence of the game
- created immersive branching narratives
- designed engaging choices, player agency, and complex ethical systems
- wrote the main branching dialogues, barks, and menus
- integrated all the narrative content in Unreal 5
- reviewed and iterated on the narrative content to match the expectations of the target audience.
