Alix et Yanis : la disparition d’Albert le hamster is a visual novel for children developed by The Seed Crew which is made up of 5 parts of 15 minutes each. The game tells the story of the disappearance of the class hamster Albert and encourage the players to think about dis/ability and ableism. For this project, I:
- defined the concept of the game
- established the vision, the scope, and the tone of the project
- work with artists and game designers to ensure that the overall vision is maintained across all aspects of the game
- researched the main themes (dis/ability and ableism in schools)
- designed the overall narrative structure (i.e.: built the interactivity of the game taking into account the age of the players and their need for similarity and change, designed suitable puzzles)
- conceived a straightforward yet full of twists narrative arc
- created characters with whom children can identify
- wrote dialogues with the target audience in mind.
