Video Game Writing and Coded Patterns

Paper published in French in the journal "Appareil" in the 23th issue Poïétique du jeu vidéo, 2021.

Based on Platform Studies enquiries, this essay explains how different interactive writing softwares (Twine, Ren’Py and Quest) encourage narrative designers to create their stories in particular ways, focusing on intracompositional intermediality, narrative modes and interactivity.
